Roman Holiday II

THURSDAY
We head out to Naples and Pompeii.
And apparently Pompeii takes care of dogs (much like that graveyard with cats). We didn't give them any money for the dogs. Kyle's mom would be so ashamed of us.
Pompeii is the city where the volcano erupted and covered the city's people and they all were killed.
We are so ready for the next eruption.
We had to skip Naples to get back to Rome for our killer New Year's Eve plans:

(And yes, that is Star Trek: The Next Generation that we are watching on the laptop to ring in the New Year).

FRIDAY
After getting out of bed around 1pm (although I totally got up at 9:50 to get breakfast before returning to sleep--and good thing too, I got an amazing fudge breakfast cake) we went to this abandoned town--I have no idea what it was called. We saw maybe 3 people the whole time we were there.
To see this great beach.
The wind was out of control. We both had sand in every crack and crevass.
But it was so worth it to touch the Tyrrhenian Sea, which we totally thought was the Mediterranean Sea. Whoopsie!
SATURDAY
We will be leaving at 5am to travel home and after 20 hours of flying we will get home 14 hours after we leave. Kyle says, "wrap your mind around that!" See you then!

Taryn is so excited you went to Pompei. That was one of her favorite things to learn about. I love that picture of Kyle on the beach. Glad you had a great time. We'll go back together in 10 years or so.

That is so sad about the people of Pompei. But really cool at the same time. I don't get the pictures of you guys in your bed? What are you doing with your arms? Thanks for visiting my blog while in Italy, my map has a dot on Rome, and I think is cool. Fly extra safe tomorrow!

PS. Shame on you for not giving the dogs money. Zoe and Celeste are both totally offended
