Crochet Time

So I'm totally bored with the stuff I have to crochet, but I'm out of fun money. So I came up with a brilliant plan. There are two patterns, about $13-15 each with shipping. Below are pictures of the patterns I want to get from 123stitch.com. So my plan is this: I will make a Care Bear or Winnie the Pooh character for anyone who will contribute funds to get the patterns! Isn't that brilliant?! You help me, and I help you. So, any takers?!

Rhino

The 24th of July ended up being a lot of fun. Kyle's mom invited us out to her property to ride their Rhino. Kevin came down for it too. Kyle's mom brought a picnic and then we rode around the mountain in the Rhino. It was so fun to ride around on that thing. It's like a dune buggy but way more tough. It was terrifying at times, but I can't wait to go out again.

Kyle was the communications officer and I was navigator...he did a much better job than I did. I got us very very lost...whoops!

Here's Kyle holding on for dear life. I thankfully had handles to hold on to and even a seatbelt if I wanted it. After we drove to the top of the mountain, where we found the most perfect camping spot, was this amazing view of Utah Lake and Utah Valley.

On an unrelated note, here's just an awesome picture of Jess and her purple hair while she was being such a doll and doing her job without complaining. She's been such a breeze to nanny, I've really appreciated her this summer. It's amazing how great she has grown up.

P.S. I added a couple photos to the fishing post that I got off of Kyle's cell phone. You should check them out, they're great.

Book Club

I'm hosting book club tonight and I have so much anxiety. I don't know if there will be enough food and/or enough chairs. I don't know if people liked the book..because I kind of didn't. I don't know if they'll stay forever or quickly excuse themselves out of my tiny apartment. I just don't any of this. One thing that has helped is that my 4:00 therapy appointment rescheduled. But instead of using the time to prepare I'm just blogging about the anxiety. I'm so productive, I know. But the tv is on and I have a hard time pulling myself away. I also hate trying to prepare food and time it so that it is warm when people will be eating it...which is another reason that I am stalling.

FISHING

This is my first fish ever! Jerome, Kass, and Kyle waited very patiently for me to catch this beautiful fish, because believe me it did not come easy, as Kassie has thoroughly mentioned in her blog.

You see, first I got the nasty flourescent bait all over me. Then I cast it in over and over and over again, until I gave up and Kyle took over. But at the end Jerome was determined that I catch something, so they gave me both poles to double my chances. I got about a zillion bites, but they all got away every time that Kass picked up the camera to capture the moment. But after I gave up and was reeling in the pole (because I had broke the other line) there was a fish on the end!

Kyle did much better. This is a picture of what he caught first. I was very proud.

But then he caught a real fish!

This little boy kept bringing this nasty fish over that he caught. I don't know why his dad kept letting him play with the dead fish. He played with it for like a half hour. It was so gross, but he was so cute. Even though he came over like twenty million times. And asked if he could hold some of our fish. Wouldn't you want to?!

I was very glad that Jerome was there to take care of the fish gutting and preparation. I nearly barfed watching him rip the fish apart, but it was one of those things that was so revolting that I could not take my eyes off of it for even a second.
And it tasted good. Unfortunately, it is on my list of things I won't eat because the idea of it grosses me out. But Kyle and Jerome enjoyed it.

Kyle's Hygenic Woes

Poor Kyle could not contain his emotion as he plucked his beloved nose hairs from their long time residence in his nose. Doesn't that picture just make you so sad?

Conan and Kyle

So, Kyle's new passion has been smutty novels, but Rainey's smutty novels were not enough for him (refer back to the Anniversary blog when Kyle was reading the following novel or to the picture below).
So Kyle has moved onto these trashy Conan novels. And yes, Rainey, he says they are far smuttier than any of your novels. Too smutty to detail here because of the young eyes who read this wonderful blog.
But in addition to the trashiness of Kyle's media--guess who has to check it out--Me! Because I basically have no life or job I at least can get stuff from the library for Kyle, but it's so embarrassing. And it's not just the one time when I'm checking out the materials (yes he got the movie and the 3 books in one hard back) that it's embarrassing, but it seems like every time I go in there they are saying, "You're Conan book and/or movie is due next". And I pretend like I'm not humiliated that they think those materials are for me...

DustyINChuck

So since votes are becoming quite popular on the blogging scene, I thought I'd solicit my own votes about my former boyfriend. We're voting on what everyone feels most comfortable calling him because he has changed his name so much. The three options are: Dusty, Chuck, and the newest name: Dustin.

Fourth of July

The barbeque at Mom's was really fun, between Andy's Ant Castle and the Extreme Croquet Course. Swimming was even fun. I got there earlier enough to swim before being overloaded by kids who think that splashing and hanging on your back is fun. It's not. At least not to me. Kyle thinks it's fun...but I'm all about the least amount of energy and least amount of water in my eyes. Lots of great people were there. And lots of great food. Rainy's brownies were pretty wonderful, which was obvious because they were ALL GONE! Way to go Rainey. My salad is still sitting in my fridge feeling rejected. Sarah and DustIN brought cake for James' birthday. He is way cute, but it's hard to believe that he's five. Oh, and for Jeff and Rainey: I got a report of what Cole was saying on the other side of the lawn to earn his money. He went over and said, "Who's Kelli? Oh, well she wants you to go sit by her." For those of you who weren't there I asked Cole to go get Kyle for me, and he wouldn't, so I offered him a quarter and he immediately jumped up to do it. He came back and reported that Kyle said no. So I asked if he had told Kyle that that hurts my feelings and Cole said, "No, I didn't know that. How did I not know that?!" SO he went back to Kyle, but still failed in getting Kyle to come over. :( But I paid up anyway. However, all my quarters must have fallen out or been spent renting movies at the library, so I gave him a dollar instead, which he thought was pretty great.

WELCOME HOME!!!

Wendy's kids came back! Finally! Not only have I been so bored but I missed them. They're so great. But sadly I didn't get to see them much Thursday because they had voice and hair appointments so I was mostly in the car. But I did get to talk to them alone that way. But we have all next week. It'll be fun until they leave again for another vacation...But didn't I make such lovely welcome home German Pancakes for them? I don't know that anyone but me and Justin ate them...maybe Jamie did.
