State Fair Substitute

We planned  a trip to the State Fair with our friends. But then they decided Salt Lake was just too far away and that Thanksgiving Point was a sufficient substitute. I cared at first, but it quickly went away. Although I missed the great sideshows the State Fair has to offer. There is really no substitute for that.
My pictures loaded backwards, kind of, mostly randomly, but I have no desire to fix it. This is Legend, Stephanie and Shelton. It could've been a great picture if I hadn't cut Shelton off.

Legend thought it was great to push Felix around in his stroller.
This is how dessert after went. Very chaotically and messy:

Felix and Lege LOVED the indoor area. It was the first play place that Felix has really appreciated and he thought it was fantastic.

This is Stephanie and Baby Gray chilling while the kids played inside.

This horse was massive. So massive Kyle would not get too close to it.

This was Felix's look of indifference as the horse tried to eat him. He just slowly pulled his legs farther and farther up.

Happy Birthday Felix!!!

Felix turned ONE!!! Kyle found this great idea to buy a men's shirt and take a picture of him in it every year to see him grow, obviously I'll put a new number on it every year.
Here's the cakes I made for his birthday. I planned for way too many people, but better that than not having enough ;) I did a trial run with the raccoon just to make sure that it would turn out okay.

These are the cute things I made to make it a forest party. I made acorns out of donut holes and masks out of felt. And to give credit where credit is due, Kyle, Kass, Wendy, Justin, Jamie and Jer (Jess was there for like a second, but somehow disappeared) all were in an assembly line to make the masks.

Lastly, I made this special jacket to make Felix into a raccoon. One of my friends came kind of late and so it was really dark. She has a little girl around 2 years old and she saw Felix making his way toward her and screamed in terror that a raccoon was coming toward her and would not be comforted until they put her in the car in spite of their insistence that it was just a little boy.

Here are some of the friends that came, I think everyone had their picture taken except mom and our friends the Bischofs and I know there was a picture of Nick, but I'm not sure where it went.
Us.

Ashley, Nixon and Ashdon (Ashdon makes me so excited for Felix to grow up, they kind of look alike and they both seem to be all over the place, and they are both adorable!)

Wendy, Jamie, Justin and Jer. Jess was working :(
Rain & Syd. Riley and Cole were there too...again, not sure where their pictures are.
Dad. Kass forced that mask on to him.
Kass, Jerome, Story and Gauge.
Kory, Amy, Axel, and Dani.

My friend Reilly. We went to London together. She came with her husband and two girls. It was her daughter that was terrified of Felix.

This was how distressed I was about trying to get Felix to open presents. He was done with the party after cake. I was not smart enough to do presents and then cake. He hates being cleaned up and so trying to make him sit still after that was not easy. So it ended up being me opening presents for him.

After the party he rifled through the cupboards while I cleaned stuff up like a true Raccoon.
Then while Kyle had his back turned for like a second, he did this:
Thanks to everyone who came! It was a great first birthday bash for Felix, but mostly a great celebration that Kyle and I have been parents for a year and have a really great kid.
