Random Pictures

Kyle and the tough guy. That's what Jeff called him and I think he especially looks it here.
Kevin, Kyle's brother, and the baby his mother thrust upon him ;)
Kyle documenting how I spend my days...
Our Kitty...the one Story isn't so afraid of anymore. Except when the kitty tries to get her toys back that Story steals from her. Then Story gets a little freaked out.

Monsters

Felix was the only one cooperating with this photo shoot, which is very different than his behavior this week. Story has been much easier than him lately. But this day, he was really chill.
Story would not allow mom to hold Felix, because apparently she is only Story's grandma.
And this shows how she really was the whole time. She was a little overwhelmed with me, Felix, Amy, and Axel all encroaching on her time with her grandparents.
Dad was totally fine with Axel playing the organ with him.
And Axel was very interested in Felix too. He's such a cute boy. He was very nice to my baby.

Anderson Halloween Party 2010

I was really nervous I wouldn't feel up to doing a party this year. And then when I did feel up to it I was worried that I wouldn't be able to make it as fun or more fun than last year. But I am really pleased with how it turned out. Thanks to everyone who came and especially to those who helped! For those of you who don't know my dad and don't get Felix's costume, please refer to the picture below:
My decorations were really low key, but I'm happy with them.
Mom made home made rootbeer and it was a hit--especially with Andy. Andy was very appreciative of everything festive.
Now here are the family shots, starting with us:
Kass, Jerome, and Story
My mom, who is the greatest for dressing up even though her husband never will:
Shauna's Family, who gets the best family theme award:
Andy and Lynus. Lynus had to be Luigi even though he's smaller because both his and Luigi's names start with L.
Kim's Family:
Kory, Amy and Axel:
Brandon, Ashley, and Ashdon (Ashdon's costume was the best!):
Wendy's family (the boy on the end is Justin, Jenny's boyfriend standing in for Justin, Jenny's brother who refuses to come to my parties).
Jeff's family (don't worry Rainey IS dressed up, she's a really mean mom):
Kurt's family:
Everyone:
Here's some shots from the games. Thank you to Jessica for being the event photographer, even if it meant getting a lot of shots of her :)
Here's the scare crow relay game:
Btw this is Jerome being a poor sport, they won anyway somehow.
Jeopardy:
Jeff almost won, but didn't wager enough at the end, so the prize went to Shauna.
And finally, the pinata. It was homemade and super cool looking...however, not too strong. So it didn't really work out since it fell off the string and broke during the testing phase.
So James broke it all the way open for everyone.
And clearly Cole got the most candy.
Kim took care of my baby once he woke up. That was really nice :)
And afterwards our friends, Stephanie and Shelton, who couldn't make it to the party came over and hung out with us. This is their little boy Legend in a skunk costume that Stephanie sewed herself. It is VERY impressive and he is super cute.

Felix's Interstate Excursion

This is Kyle. Thought I'd make sure you knew that, as I only post once a year or so, and it makes all the difference. Not to you, of course, but to me. I want credit for reaching out to you. So now that we have that little unpleasant business out of the way, here's a blog post!

We took Felix for his first trip this weekend. A breakneck three-state-tour encompassing Wyoming, Idaho, and his very own state of Utah in one day. I had to go on a work trip to do some computer stuff at a pharmacy in Montpelier, ID and I thought it would be fun if we all went.

He was less than impressed.

Mostly he just slept or ate or defecated like nothing was out of the ordinary.

These are Chris(Kelli's sister)'s sheep. We got to stop by and talk to her and her husband Brent. They're a pretty neat couple. And they have a beautiful little grotto-grove-garden. The black sheep is bossy. And pretty fearless. The ruddy-brown ones just follow her around hoping some of her sleek black coolness will rub off. It doesn't, by the way.

I took a lot of pictures like these while driving. Kelli was mad. Chances are you're mad about it too. Thinking back on it, fiddling with my phone while looking sideways out a window of a car careening down a serpentine canyon road probably wasn't my best idea. But beauty is pain, people. Tyra taught me that.

I love this picture of Kelli and Felix. Sums up his existence.

On an unrelated note, who knew Kassie wrote such "Intriguing" and ridiculously-titled romance novels? And that her pseudonym was so uncreative? I can only assume this story was autobiographical.

Finally!!

Finally we caught him smiling on camera. By we I mean Kyle. He took a bunch of pictures and got some great ones. He is SO much cuter when he smiles. Especially when most of his faces are so grumpy. Oh, and by the way, he's dead asleep in both of these pictures--which makes it funnier.
And finally I finished the final square of my quilt. I started a quilting class last winter and they finished their quilts last month and before this week I was three months behind and today I finished the last square! It was super intense. Each of those squares is 1.25". It was really fun. Now I just have to do the border!

More Kitty Kitties

I crocheted a hat and booties for Felix this week. They turned out way cuter than I expected. I'm super excited about them. And it only cost $2 using yarn that I got from my friend Shelley's boutique.
And yes, I realize this makes him Felix the Cat. Dad already pointed that out.
